Biography

I'm a 28-year old Melbournite who loves making stuff. Fabric is my current obsession. I love sewing but I'm not big on patterns as I like to work in an intuitive and exploritory way and to be surprised by the outcome. I'm also not a big fan of sizing so I like to create wearable pieces which can be worn differently by different body types. I take great pleasure in the simple acts of combining different shapes, colours and textures; of cutting and joining.
I have studied both Graphic Design and Fine Art but have found that the commerical imperative of design and the often inaccessible nature of Contemporary art to be at odds with my nature. I feel that I am finally beginning to find my creative voice through making - and it feels good!

collage, garage sales, sculpture, sewing, fabric, aprons, trawling through op shops and trash and treasure markets, snuggling with my pussy cat, enjoying good coffee, cooking and savouring good food, second-hand bookstores, japanese aesthetics, growing herbs and veg, collecting 1950s furniture and decorative objects, patchwork..., dressing creatively
